A lot of people know of the brand, but they’d like to know more about these extreme sport shoes. So here is a little history about the brand. DC Shoes is an American company founded in 1993 Vista, California.
A question that often comes up in conversation:
Does Rob Dyrdek own DC Shoes?
The answer: Yes, yes he does own a pair, but not the company. To clear it up for anyone who is interested…the American company produces shoes for extreme sports such as: skateboarding, snowboarding, bmx, rally car racing, motocross and even surfing;
they sponsor such events and personnel. Rob Dyrdek wears the logo because being a skateboarder; he is simply sponsored by the brand. Quicksilver, on the other hand, owns the company as of 2004.
What does the name stand for? DC had ties with Droors City Footwear, but since the Droors id defunct, DC no longer stands for anything.
DC makes very comfortable sneakers. Their kicks are always recognizable by their heavily patted tongue, wide frame and sometimes graffiti like design patterns. You don’t necessarily have to be in extreme sports to wear a pair of their skate shoes. They look great with jeans, sweats or shorts. And if you’re not into the whole skater community don’t let that discourage you from owning a pair because they really do make comfortable sneaks.
