Awe, the NEW BALANCE 996 finally gets its very own Blackout colorway. Much like the other versions, this one offers a suede and mesh upper. The sole, entirely black. As a matter of fact the only thing on this shoe that offers the slightest bit of contrast is the branding on the tongue. This isn’t a bad thing per se, it’s just that an all black sneaker leaves the aesthetics entirely in the hands of the silhouette. Thankfully the NB996 has a very classic looking one…but that creased sole has got to change.
